Today I had to start taking pills for Typhoid Fever. NO, I don't have Typhoid Fever. I hope to never get Typhoid Fever and I want to be immune from Typhoid Fever. Hence the pills. Here's the deal with the pills, though. You're supposed to take them at least one week before you leave. So I waited until this morning to start popping them jut to be sure I obtain maximum effectiveness.

What I didn't realize was there are four pills. AND you have take them on alternating days. Take one, skip a day. Take two, skip a day etc... Which means I won't be done until Tuesday morning. That doesn't sound like a problem, but it is. You see, you MUST keep the pills refrigerated or you will die! Or something like that. Because if these pills heat up all the anti-typhoid bacterium will expire and I will thus be unprotected.

What does all this mean? I'll be on the plane monday and therefore I can't take my final pill given that I don't have refrigerated pants. (note to self: Buy refrigerated pants.) So here's the plan. I'm going to take the next pill tomorrow night. 36 hours later Not 48 hours. That's technically the next day, Right? That way I'll be able to take my last pill on Sunday night, right before I leave. I'm hoping my body doesn't implode with the slight overlap.

Hola, mi amigos. Bienvenidos a mi pago de communicacion para... Ah, heck. Who am I kidding. My spanish is pobre at best. As many of you know I am heading off to Guatemala for the month of May. Partly to better my spanish, partly to enjoy my summer break. This page will be home base for me. I plan on writing twice a week, maybe more if time and internet access are abundant.

The best thing about this blog phenomenon is the feedback. I'd love to hear from you. I'll be all alone in a land down under. So click that little comment button and say hello. Or make that "Hola, chola."
